FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Windows 7
Mac OSX 10.9.2
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Applets with expired code signing certificates are blocked by default in the latest version of Java. Before Java 7 Update 55, applets with expired certificates showed a message "Running this application may be a security risk", but the user was allowed to proceed. Now, the application is blocked unless the user goes into the Java Control Panel and makes an exception. This is an unwelcome surprise and doesn't match how expired applets are said to be handled here: http://java.com/en/download/help/appsecuritydialogs.xml
REGRESSION. Last worked in version 7u51
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
