redisplay is delayed while scrolling page with tables using tiny awt

refresh/repaint of page looks buggy when scrolling
a page containing tables using hotjava on solaris run with tiny awt

to recreate:
1. load hotjava with the following
/usr/local/java/hotjava/solaris/bin/hotjava -Dawt.toolkit=sun.awt.tiny.TinyToolkit -log /dev/tty &

2. scroll back and forth
