On the Japanese version of Windows95, 2-byte characters (DBCS) can't be
inputted in TextField and TextArea using a Japanese input method. For
example, 'pa' in Hiragana (0x82cf) becomes 'ma' in half-width Katakana
(0xcf) after hitting RETURN (meaning to confirm the input string).
