      java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)

When entering Arabic numerals into a Swing text component, on a system setup
with the Arabic locale (Windows NT Arabic version, Arabic keyboard), the
numerals appear as Western numerals. Other Arabic characters are drawn
correctly, but numerals always appear as Western '0 to 9' characters.

Even when entering the numerics as Unicode characters using the 'Alt-' method,
the characters are not correct. Entering the Unicode character code '\u0661'
(Arabic '1'), results in the Unicode character code '\u2022' being sent to the
      text component.
