Java_plugin: 1.4.0_02 rebundle plugins wont load with Netscape

When installing jdk 1.4.0_02 rebundle, plug-in demos will not load properly on Netscape Communciator version 4.75 and 4.78 for Win NT.
I have also checked this with Netscape 6.1 and IE and the problem does not exist.

For an example to reproduce it can be seen with the Card Test applet and others.

I have also checked this with 1.4.0_02 b1 and 1.4 fcs, the problem does not exist here.

The error message which I am receiving looks like:
Bad Major version number - error.

From further investigation into this problem, I have found that the source of the problem lies within the source code of the rebundle.
I have always loaded an applet demo through the plugin directory: /demos/plugins/applets/clock. The plugin demos load here for 1.4 fcs, 1.4.0_02_b1 and the source code contains:
value="application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4"
however if we do the same for the rebundle the source code does not contain this value , why is this the case? Why has the source code been changed?

To state also, if you run an applet demo from the demos directory: demo/applets/clock (slightly different from the path above). Applets do not load for all versions 1.4 fcs, 1.4.0_02_b1 and the rebunble. The error message here explains : Bad major version number.
