    Description

Customer (Elluminate) would like the ability to select, from Java Sound, which input or output device is to be used (i.e. Mic, Line In, CD, etc). This may be further complicated
if the system supports multiple inputs of the same type (such as front and back panel jacks, or multiple microphones).
Customer (Elliminate) wants JavaSound to integrate with master volume and mute controls. Evidently, this has been fixed in 5.0 on Windows, but not on Linux, (Solaris?), and Mac.
When Java Sound is the only application running, it is able to open the device at
different sampling rates. If, however, another application has opened the device,
only the system sampling rate may be available. This may have changed with the
DirectSound in 5.0. Furthermore, the resampling that javasound uses is of poor
quality. Perhaps a sinusoidal intperpolator should be added.
