    Description

      Clicking on Solaris Java Locale changer (out of context) causes VM crash

      Scenerio:

      Running JavaTest on either JavaSE 1.4.2 or 5_u12 ( 6 not tested)
      on Solaris 10 server, remotely displaying to a sunray desktop.
      Locale: Ireland. Application CDC/FP TCK 1.1.2 or JDTS 2.0 update 2.

      When JavaTest appears as either part of a TCK or JDTS in this scenario, a little locale changer box saying [ENGLISH/EUROPEAN] appears on the bottom left hand corner of the
      Frame and also at the bottom of any modal dialog boxes.
      When used correctly, this little locale switcher causes no crash for me.
      But I do find it a little annoying.

      However, when I bring up a modal dialog box, for example by performing
      file-> create new work-dir or edit -> change configuration,
      the little locale switcher remains on screen and a ghost of it
      will remain underneath the main frame after the dialog box is dismissed (regardless of how long box was in use or why it was dismissed)
      ( I have attached a screen shot of teh ghost )

      If one accidetanlly clicks on or selects this (or these) or drags mouse around the(se)
       ghost box(es), the JVM will instantly crash with:

      #
      # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
      #
      # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0xe3eceabc, pid=21845, tid=15
      #
      # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (1.5.0_12-b04 mixed mode)
      # Problematic frame:
      # C [xiiimp.so.2+0x2eabc]
      #

      Scenrio set-up...., my solaris 10 box is named winebar.ireland

      [winebar] > uname -a
      SunOS winebar 5.10 Generic_118833-22 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V245

      [winebar] > locale

      LC_CTYPE="en_IE.UTF-8"
      LC_NUMERIC="en_IE.UTF-8"

      sunray > uname -a
       SunOS sr1-edub-03 5.10 Generic_125100-04 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

      I have attached several crash log files but not the 330 M or 110M core files generated. They are available over NFS on demand.
