Migrate the metal changes from sandbox to lanai repository

    Description

      Need to migrate changes related to JDK-8224046 from http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk/sandbox(metal-prototype-branch) to http://hg.openjdk.java.net/lanai/lanai.

      There was no jcheck in the sandbox workspace, so need to refine code also for the same.
