appletviewer hangs when you run it on a .class file

1. Type
        % appletviewer TicTacToe.class

2. Output
        The "Accept/Reject" window comes up.
 
3. Click "Accept"
 
Problem:
the appletviewer hangs -- its window never comes up and the application never exits
