appletviewer does not take a -classpath argument

Subject: appletviewer classpath

What's the deal on applets that want to use code that isnt in the same
package (therefore not physically located in the same directory as the
applet entry class? Appletviewer doesnt take a classpath arg.

Is the class archive format related to this and how can I find out about
it?
