The CompuServe web homepage tools constrain the publisher to 8.3
filenames, all in a single directory. AOL is rumored to also suffer
from similar constraints (I'll confirm this soon). If we expanded
our zip (oops, make that jar) use to include downloaded classes,
graphics and other misc. files, people could have applets in their
web pages. Yes, we've discussed this in the past, but having a
large number of customers locked out from using our technology (who
really want to) ups the priority of the problem.
