There is no portable way to obtain the size (width) of the window in
which the applet resides. There is an Applet method to request a different
size, but no mechanisms to allow applets to auto-resize.

Thus if a Netscape or IE 3.0 browser window is widened, HTML tables and other
HTML data can automatically resize to fit, but applets cannot.
