PopupMenus don't dissappear when their invoker is not showing.
This can be seen in Swingset by going to the menu tab, popping up
a menu, and then switching tabs. The tough thing here is that there
may be no easy way to find this out -- I believe that the component
is still 'visible', just not 'showing' so there is no call to the
componentHidden method on component listeners...
