When multicolumn tables are layed out, some columns that could be made
substantially slimmer remain wide even though other columns are having
to "wrap" their contents into multiple lines.

When trying to force columns to be wider by using non-breaking-spaces,
the contents are actually TRUNCATED rather than allocating a wider
space for that column. Compare HJB with Netscape on the following URL...
