In .java_wrapper (SPARC) and almost all the tools/shell scripts
(x86) the 'uname' utility is used, but only as `uname -p`,
without the full path specified. Users with the GNU uname utility
first in their PATH will get an error as it has no -p option, and
is thereby unable to start the tools.
