Unix and Windows95 both support a services file
which contains information about network services.
An application program can use the getservbyname
subroutine to access a service, service aliases,
the protocol for the service, and a protocol port
      number for the service.
The services information can also be supported
      via NIS.
Java applications will need access to some of
      these services.
I would like to suggest something like:-
      ServEnt getServByName(String name,String protocol)

The Servent class would contain the information
retreaved from the services file or NIS.
