The GIF 89a (and 87?) format(s) can contain
multiple images. These images are usually used
to provide animated images. Nevertheless, they
could also be used to load multiple independent
images at the same time.

It would be nice if Java's getImage() (or another
function) could provide access to these other
images in a GIF file.
