Start up one of the Swing demos that include text fields or text areas (e.g.,
SwingSet, Stylepad, Notepad, Metalworks). Go to such a field and start typing.
On solaris, you will very quickly see the insertion cursor (the blinking
vertical bar) move well to the right of the actual insertion point. On win32,
the cursor moves somewhat to the left of the insertion point. This makes
editing a bit tricky, to say the least. This is with the beta3-I build in both
cases.
I don't know whether this is due to the Swing classes themselves, to some AWT
bug, or to a font-metric problem in 2D. I'm filing this under classes_2D at a
guess.
