JDK-2020036 | 1.2.0 | Deepa Viswanathan | P4 | Resolved | Fixed | 1.2beta4 |
HotJava Views 1.1.2 beta(i) will not start up correctly on jdk 1.1.6M
running Japanese Windows NT4.0.
It displays just Window frame(no components in it) after HJV banner.
(No further operation can be taken because of no components.)
I have tried three different combination with locale and JIT on/off.
Locale JIT result
ja on NG
ja off OK
en on OK
See logs from views_g in attachement.
Use "views(_g) -jdk <where you have 1.1.6>"
Recommend remove .hotjava on your home to reproduce for sure.
Looks like JIT is causing some problem to parse hotjava home directory
to set jdtBase if locale is Japanese.
