This phenomenon has been confirmed only on Solaris 2.6 with x86 Korean and zh_TW locales.
How to reproduce:

Run next demo file using appletviewer.
/demo/Clock/example1.html
You will see a clock just with long hand, short hand and figures.
However, you cannot see whole-round or left half-round edge of the clock.
