The display of gif images on NT with a display
in 16-bit color mode is broken in JDK1.2beta3.
When part of the displayed image is obscured
by a window and then unobscured, the repainted
image does not have the original colors. Instead
orange becomes green, blue becomes purple, etc.

To reproduce, run the demo applet ImageMap on a
PC whose display is running in 16 bit color mode.
Obscure the image with another window then let
      the image be repainted.

This does not happen if the display is in 24-bit
or truecolor mode. It also does not happen
      in JDK1.1.6 in any mode.
