Using the Japanese version of Solaris 2.5.1
(SPARC), the new version of 1.1.6 interacts in
an undesirable way with the Japanese IME that
can crash the Java app.
When an input widget gets the focus, and typing is
done with the IME diabled, depending on the
condition, the IME manager (in this case Wnn6 that
is provided with J Solaris 2.5.1) gets spontaneously
un-iconicized and an empty window to the foreground... which
should NEVER happen.
Closing this rogue window will crash the Java app.
The IME interacted correctly with 1.1.5, but 1.1.5
didn't allow IME use with Swing.
The easiest and quickest way to see this problem
is to use the Japanese version of Hotjava 1.1.2
with JDK 1.1.6, but I'm able to recreate the
problem with other apps.
This problem only seems to be present on the
Solaris version.
