The AppContext related changes for 4142011 and 4142012 have broken AWT input method support. Input methods can't used at all.
To reproduce this bug, use test/java/awt/im/IMFTest.java. Run it with "-log" option for logging events. On Solaris, set the locale to de or fr (LANG=de), type Compose + 'a' + 'e' which should produce a LATIN SMALL LETTER AE. On Win32, probably you need to use an actual input method which requires Chinese, Japanese or Korean Windows95/NT.
