To reproduce the bug

1/ install JDK1.1.7 build L onto any machine
2/ view the currency symbol for the Irish locale
3/ view a decimal currency (ie 1.23L ) in the Italian locale

When running the appletviewer, the currency symbol for Ireland is shown as a dollar sign instaed of as a pound sign. In addition viewing an amount such as
1.23 as an Italian currency amount only has the whole number showing, not the decimal point, or the amount after the decimal point
