JDK 1.1.7 lacks a font.properties file for 8859-15, the encoding
that supports euro. This encoding is not available in Solaris
2.6, but will be part of 2.7. In 2.6 it can be gotten by
applying a patch.

Symptom: The euro character does not appear in AWT or Swing
components.
