Java2D is not able to draw rotate and skew text unless TrueType fonts are
available.

In order to be complete, Java2D must be fully functional (including text
rotation) in several environments:

On Solaris 2.5.1 where TrueType fonts are not supported at all.
On Solaris 2.6 systems where optional TrueType fonts are not installed.
In Solaris locales where the only available fonts are Type1.
