Subject: capture example (fwd)

Hello,
I tried the javasound08 and the Capture example, and it works fine
(with the minor errors already mentioned in the javasound-newsgroup)
But I would like to know what you can do with the saved "capture_data"
it is not an audio-file (the AudioStreamApp example won't play it)
Is there a way to save the captured audio in a .wav-file ?

If you can, please let me know if you have any idea when these known bugs
will be fixed. Personally I cannot test JavaSound until at least the
recording is working correctly. It would help me to have even an
approximate timeline (days/weeks/months).
- Currently on WinNT/JDK1.2 last few seconds of every recording are
discarded
- Integration with JMF is vital
- Need to be able to record to a common format (e.g., .wav or .au)
Thank you,
Marko Balabanovic

Ok, but when I load it with goldwave, goldwave asks me to specify the
format of the raw data, I selected the following (just a wild guess) :
PCM, 16 bit stereo, byte swapped, 22025 khz.
Is that the way to do it ?
Goldwave is nice but it would be quite a bit nicer if I could do the
transformation in my java program (I am writing a speech recognisition
applet (speech recognistion through a webbrowser is our ultimate goal) and
when the user records something, he wants an answer and he
doesn't want to transform his recorded voice with goldwave, you see ?
If there would exist a program like goldwave but not with a GUI but where
you can give capture_data as argument on the commando-line and then the
program creates a new .wav file, without any interaction, that would also
be great.
(BTW : the already built speech recognistion program (programmed in C)
works with .wav files)
