      There's a missing font.properties file for all solaris UTF-8
locales. This is kinda annoying since a developer writing code
that demonstrates how rich java is re. i18n finds that they
can't display a window with all the characters that are
available on the native system ! (see attached gif)

While there was an effort to include fonts with the jdk, this
has been a little problematic - see bug id's 4212275 and
4204022 for more information. I believe that if these bug id's
were fixed and the truetype fonts that were bundled were true
unicode fonts, the problem would go away.

The fonts available on solaris are limited - as you can see
from the snapshot (the dtterm fonts don't appear to be uniform
in "boldness" - some characters appear heavier than others) so
java shipping it's own fonts is a much more aesthetically
      pleasing solution.

Until then, we need a font.properties file for UTF-8 to enable
java to display at least as many characters as the native
      codeset.
