I have a need to generate UUIDs, but would like to be able to do so in Java. I can't find any functionality, which will help me unless I write my own routine and use a native interface to make the appropriate calls. I have used the sun.beans.ole.Packager, which generates UUIDs, but I suppose this is written using native interfaces also. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
