JDK-2027492 | 1.3.0 | Graham Hamilton | P2 | Closed | Fixed | kestrel |
A week or so ago, I successfully installed and used the JDK 1.22 RC 1
(Windows). Today I removed the s/w from my disk and tried to install
the JRE 1.22 RC 1 - only to be faced with the same problem I had
seen in previous EA releases of the JRE: in the middle of the
installation, the installer claims there's not enough space and
that C:\TEMP will contain an "uncrunch.log" file that will provide
details. Well, neither of the two statements is true: I have enough
space on the disk where the JRE is being installed (unless the JRE
installation requires more than 100Meg) and there IS NO
"uncrunch.log" file in the C:\TEMP directory as the installer claims!
When I subsequently re-install the JDK 1.22 RC 1, everything installs
fine (despite the fact that it basically installs a JRE in the same
exact directory where the JRE installer fails!)
Have you guys seen this problem? If so, is it fixed in RC 2?
