      Bug Report..... from JavaOne...

I'll try and file bugs on these when the damn /usr/dist network is up again...

While at JavaOne a Marc Kaufman from Adobe Systems came by and said
that their beta Java version of Acrobat reader (free from their web
site) is having problems with JDK1.2 on Solaris...

Turns out he was using the Reference version, and didn't know about
the production version... So we downloaded it at the booth
and gave it a try... Not good... At least 3 problems here...

      1) He has it in a jar file, but when I ran:

      /usr/java1.2/bin/java -jar acrobat.jar

It gave some kind of class not found error, but the class IS in the jar
file. Marc said this was a bug in 1.2.1 and was fixed in 1.2.2 (I think),
anyway, if you explode the jar file, we still get this error, but
if I then add the jar file to the bootclasspath this problem went away.
So this was a bug in JavaSoft's reference platform that may have
been fixed and we might want to get this fix.
Had something to do with the class loader only looking in the boot
classpath ... or something like that...

      2) If you don't exploded the jar file, the menu mar with the glyphs didn't
show up... I don't know what this problem is... But apparently this
is one we continue to share with 1.2.2, or at least Marc said that.
He seems to be resigned to the fact that jar files must be exploded to
      work.... This isn't right....

      3) With our JDK1.2_03, and the jar file exploded, and the jar file
in the bootclasspath, the glyphs are blank... Marc said this was another
bug in 1.2.1 that was fixed in 1.2.2... I forget the details...
Something about not finding the glyphs???

      -----

Someone should probably go to the adobe download page and verify these
problems and file bugs.... If I ever get a working netscape and
bugtraq I will try too... But probably not till late next week...
If anyone else wants to track this down I would greatly appreciate it.
