GCCS has a new name now - HKSCS, standing
for Hong Kong Supplementary Character Set. HKSCS v.2 is an expansion of
BIG5 (for Traditional Chinese used in Taiwan and Hong Kong) that
contains over 5,000 characters/symbols that the Hong Kong government
considers important in their computing environment. HKSCS v.2 can also
be found in Unicode 3.0 characters.
Customer has a need of supporting these special characters in its
products for the Hong Kong market.
There are a number of things which need to be done to support these new characters. RFEs for the individual pieces of the job have been filed. This RFE will remain as an umbrella RFE for tracking purposes.
