The problem is revealed in KeyLab Application Compatibility testing - MarketVista 1.1 App. No text is displayed while it's entered to the
textfield labeled 'Symbol:'. It appears that blank spaces are displayed
instead of characters, since the cursor moves when typing. However, the
keyevents are fired and processed properly.

The problem occurs on both Cricket and Kestrel builds. This is a backward incompatibility with JDK1.1.x.

Too bad, there is no source code provided from the ventor to isolate
the problem further.
