From previous enquiry:
java version "1.2.2"
Classic VM <build JDK-1.2.2-001, native thread, symcjit>
Following e-mail from Sandeepk Konchady:
I have checked the registry on one of the machines where we installed the JDK
software. The only entries in the registry are for those users who actually
installed the software (administrator or a user added, then removed from the
administration group). The entries for the two areas you mentioned were:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Java Soft (Default) (value not set)
Java Plug-in (Default) (value not set)
Debug Mode "0"
Debug Port "2502"
Java Runtime "Default"
Java Runtime Version "1.2"
JIT Enabled "1"
JIT Path "symcjit"
HKEY_USERS
S-1-5-21-1354774532-1509566088-48716514-1091
Software
Java Soft (Default) (value not set)
Java Plug-in (Default) (value not set)
Debug Mode "0"
Debug Port "2502"
Java Runtime "Default"
Java Runtime Version "1.2"
JIT Enabled "1"
JIT Path "symcjit"
I also noticed entries made in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
When I logged on as a standard user (one that had not installed the software)
there was neither the directory structure within the registry or the above
entries. It seems that to be successful the user must be within the
administration group when installing the software, unlike most other products
where the administrator can install software to allow access by all users.
