When a physical font is requested then the search mechanism searches all the font paths and then returns the requested font. Instead as soon as it finds the requested font, it should return it and not procedd to look at other fontpaths. The jre/lib/fonts directory should be one of the first directories it looks for, as the fonts shipped in the JDK should be given higher preference.
