While I've been working with 1.3 Beta for almost 6 months now, and like it,
there is always room for improvement. In particular we would like to start
using Java in devices, like copiers and printers. Real-time, garbage
collection, speed, and overall memory use are concerns. In particular, Swing
is pretty heavy for embedded displays. Other implementations, such as
Espial's Espresso can give us nearly the same capability in a much smaller
and faster footprint. Would you consider a modular swing implementation?
