I created the download zip files for JavaMail 1.1.3EA using the
JDK 1.1.6 jar command. The zip command was removed from /usr/dist
and I figured jar files are really just zip files so why not.
Three customers have complained that they can't extract the jar
files. They get zero length files and similar problems. Two of
the customers claim to be using WinZip 7.0. I have been unable
to reproduce the problem myself using WinZip 7.0 on Win98SE. I
can't determine whether this is user error, or a problem with the
way the jar command creates the zip file. Still, with three
customer reports, I believe this is a problem that needs more
investigation.
