orig synopsis: "Unneeded white space around a JTree root items"
java version "1.3.0rc1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0rc1-T)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0rc1-S, mixed mode)
Run the SwingSet2 demo, select the JTree demo.
Under the Windows L&F, there are dots [there is a "heritage/ancestor" line?] visible at the left hand side of the
first visible treeitem: "...". These are [this is] obviously supposed to lead to the root
item, but since the root item is not visible here, the dots are not supposed to
be drawn. Under the Motif L&F a line is drawn instead of dots.
[30 Jan 2000 eval1127@eng -- confirmed]
----------------------
Under Metal, the space around
the first visible treeitem is way bigger than it was under JDK 1.2.2. This
looks worse than it was under 1.2.2.
[30 Jan 2000 eval1127@eng -- can't see this clearly at approx'ly 1100 x 854 resolution]
