We are adding a new permission class for RMI security for controlling authentication, and its target name includes the same principal syntax ({Principal Class "PrincipalName"}*) that is used in PrivateCredentialPermission. As such, it would be very useful and convenient if end users could make use of the same kind of "self" expansion for this permission class that the default JAAS policy file implementation provides for PrivateCredentialPermission. I suspect other people may invent new permission classes with similar needs.
