Exception is thrown when hit Ctrl-C on multiscreen applet test

       Run multiscreen test on win98 and NT, hit ctrl-c to terminate the program, the following exception is thrown:

      Exception occurred during event dispatching:
      java.lang.NullPointException: component argument pData
      at Sun.awt.font.NativeFontWrapper.drawStringIntDiscrete(Native Method)
      at Sun.java2d.loops.drawStringRGB.DrawString(TextRendering.java:382)
      at Sun.java2d.pipe.LoopPipe.drawString(LoopPipe.java:227)
      at sun.java2d.SunGraphics2D.drawString(SunGraphics2D.java:2605)
      at GCCanvas.paint(ScreenTest.java:140)
      at java.awt.Component.update(Component.java:2117)

      Sometimes the exception thrown on:
      at Sun.awt.windows.Win32Renderer.doFillRect(Native Method)

      This bug is not reproduciable for every run, sometimes it will happen, sometimes not. But over 50% of time, it is reproduciable.

      It did not happen on kestrel, so it is a regression.
