please see bug 4171459. that one was closed as a duplicate of another bug
but we are not sure whether this is true.
the same hang can be reproduced on solaris plugin 1.2.2 and 1.3
we (Java Platform CTE) had worked with netscape engineer on this one
for an escalation customer NTT(esc 517294)
there is a joint fix(code change both in solaris plugin and netscape)
in netscape 4.7+ and patched solaris plugin 1.1

we would like to putback the fix in solaris plugin 1.3 so that the
1.3 fcs version work with netscape 4.7+ won't have this hang

i will put in more detail shortly.

to reproduce:
in japanese solaris system, in netscape, load /home/tao/junk/011.html
resize the netscape window, it hangs
