      java version "1.3.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-C)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0-C, mixed mode)

External Midi input devices are no longer enumerated, they were in JDK1.3rc1.

All Devices except for the Java SW devices have no synthesizer or sequencer
object associated with them, this seems to make them unusable.
getMaxTransmitters() and getMaxReceivers() return either zero or a negative
value (-1) for ALL MidiDevices present.
When the external Midi Input device (MPU-401) was present (when I was using
JDK1.3rc1) it would not open, device unavailable exception was been generated,
this exception was being generated erronously.

Sound Card is, Creative Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold with 12Mb RAM.
