Tested with Merlin beta b22 on Windows Japanese.
Bold, Italic and BoldItaric style can not be applied to Japanese Characters in 22 point or smaller.
This problem is seen on WinNT and 98.
On Win95 JIS X 0212 characters are not displayed.
Only JIS X 0212 characters can be changed its style to Bold, Italic and BoldItalic style.
To reproduce,
1. Launch Font2DTest (jdk1.4/demo/jfc/Font2DTest/Font2DTest.jar)
2. Select one of the font among Dialog, DialogInput, MonoSpaced, serif and SansSerif.
3. Input 22 or smaller in a text field for Size.
4. Select Other from Unicode Range.
5. Input 3000 or 4e00 in a text field for Unicode Range.
6. Select one of the method from DrawMethod except drawBytes.
7. Select Bold, Italic or BoldItalic.
Then, you can see the ploblem.
The character which code is one of 3004, 3010~3037, 3094 30f7~30fa,
4e02, 4e04, 4e05... can be changed its style properly.
If you input 23 or bigger, the problem does not occur.
With Kestrel FCS for Win32 this is not reporducible, therefore this problem is regression.
