Installed JDK 1.3 beta_refresh, Running string draw test at AWT test program.
Not draw "\u4e00" charactor.
This problem case setting is
Use font Serif,Monospaced and DialogInput, size 12pt, style Plain and Italic, antialiased rendering mode.
In case of Nonantialias and Default antialiased, this problem is not seen.

The same result any japanese locale (ja,ja_JP.PCK,ja_JP.UTF-8) at any solaris versions(both sparc and intel).

This problem happens on the following configuration.

SunOS diet 5.8 Generic sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-20
java version "1.3.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-beta_refresh)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0-beta_refresh, mixed mode)
