Please refer to the bug 4350294. There are several bugs in computation of the repository Id, which causes the serialization protocol to break if the object evolves.
We also need to put in place ORB versioning mechanism in order to enable interoperability with the JDK 1.3 ORB that has wrong Repository Ids.
