This occurs only on Merlin with Solaris x86, not sparc.

I found it with build 34, which is the most recent promoted build
(I didn't test other Merlin builds).

Run a demo applet. I used MoleculeViewer and GraphLayout.

jdkx -r 1.4 won't work with x86, so you have to use the -b option
to specify the build you want.

I ran on java2d-x86-builder (solaris x86 2.7) and set the display to
gradgrind (solaris sparc 2.7).

The whole applet is tinted light blue.

Just in case it matters: gradgrind is running dtwm, and the desktop style
is Summer.
