The selection of the VM across platforms should be consistent:
 -client should run the hotspot client
 -server should run the hotspot server
 -hotspot should run the hotspot client for backwards compatability.

and
 -classic option should fail (as unrecognized?)

This affects not only the launcher but the jvm.cfg file in
src/[solaris,win32]/bin/jvm.cfg
