The size of a monospace font is different depending on the style selected.
Normally users only specify a monospaced font if they want to guarantee a fixed
size!
Apparently this used to also be a problem on solaris but I was unable to
reproduce it on 1.3
Test File is attached, the plain font has width 8 while the italic is width 7
