Spend quite a lot time trying to reproduce and make sure it's not the
system problem.
This bug will not show up if you use mounted jdk linux, i.e., if you
mount jdk on /usr/local/java (as we all do inside Sun).
To reproduce, unmount the jdk, install or use java installed some where
else.
- remove javaws and .javaws directory.
- install the javaws build 12, it will ask you for the location of
java, enter the path, the installation is finished with no problem.
- You can start javaws now with no problem. start it, then quit.
- Now if you take a look at javaws.cfg file, it's empty now. you can't
start it for a second time. you will see the following message:
Java(TM) Web Start 1.0-beta Error, process exiting...
Bad installation. Could not located javaws.cfg file
I tried to manually edit the file to add in the jre locations, then
it seems I can start it once, but after I quite javaws, the cfg file
is corrupted again.
