This problem occurs on Solaris without regard to SPARC or IA.

Reproduction:

  1. Run SwingSet demo.
  2. Choose "Component Dialog" from Dialog menu.
  3. Select "Two" from Choice component on the dialog.
  4. Push any "Option" button at the bottom of the dialog.

Then the exception will be thrown like below.
